عندما وخزت عيني وميض من ضوء نيون

That split the night

شق الليل

And touched the sound of silence

ولامس صدى الصمت

And in the naked light, I saw

People talking without speaking

خذوا أذرعي لعلي أبلغكم

But my words like silent raindrops fell

لكن كلماتي كقطرات المطر الصامت سقطت

And echoed in the wells of silence

وتردد صداها في آبار الصمت

And the people bowed and prayed

والناس ركعوا وصلوا

To the neon god they made

لإله النيون الذي صنعوه

And the sign flashed out its warning

واللافتة أومضت بتحذيرها

In the words that it was forming
